(More customer reviews)From time to time, a great book comes along to take the lead on summarizing the body of knowledge in its field. Fundamentals by Brigham and Houston is one of those books. Packed with easy to understand formulas and exercises. However, keep in mind this topic is not for the faint-hearted. Financial management is complex and it helps if you had some experience in financial management at the personal level. If you have experience financial management at the corporate level, probably you know this stuff inside out but the book will still be helpful.
Some basic knowledge of Excel is also helpful, especially the financial functions such PV, FV, PMT and the related functions. You don't have to buy the expensive TI calculators if you have Excel on your computer.

(More customer reviews)I had to purchase this book for my MBA Fin Mgmt I class last semester. I actually purchased it from the bookstore. I didn't have a finance background. I really liked the way the authors made the subject easy to understand and comprehend. It gives you plenty of examples. The answers and calculations are given for the self-test questions. This class was taken all online. When I initially had taken this class on campus, I had to drop it because I wasn't understanding the concepts. After taking an Accounting course, I felt I was better preprared for this course a second time around. This book is written for the novice and advanced student.
