Shorten the Time to Doctorate: A Guide to Managing your Ph.D. as a Project Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)Having read "Shorten the Time to Doctorate", I am very impressed with the author's approach of treating the path to a doctorate as a Project Management enterprise. As an educator I try to teach research skills and time management to my students who get bogged down by the vast amount of information and by the inability to focus. This is obviously very critical at the doctoral level where the possibility of saving time, achieving the coveted higher degree, and still having a social life are difficult to balance.
The book is well written, easy to read, and the subject is lightened by the well interspersed, jocular yet relevant cartoons.
I find the statistics in Appendix B most interesting. It comes as a surprise that the field of Education has the largest number of candidtes for both Masters and Doctoral degrees, hence this book is applicable to all disciplines. I recommend this book to all those who seek to undertake the path to a higher degree.
