Most books on leadership, no matter how smart or trendy they try to be, are ponderous in the prose department. They're usually filled with concepts that are at best hard to grasp and harder to visualize. Mr. Boehlke's book is a refreshing departure from this. First of all, it's a great size (6" x 6"), the size of a cartoon book or whimsical impulse purchase at a Barnes and Noble checkout counter. But here's the thing, not only is it a fun book but one with real meat. It takes a rather unique approach in coming up with original aphorisms about leadership which would stand alone on the page and be entertaining and thoughtful. But the author takes it another step and worked with the graphic design of the statements in ways that make them come alive in the best tradition of pictures being worth 1000 words. Each page presents a little "thought puzzle" that gives the reader the satisfaction of "getting it" and makes the leadership point more memorable. Unlike prose books, this is one where you can pick a random page or read the whole thing many times. More people should "write" like this!
